Double Trouble Double Cleanse: Farmacy Beauty Cleansing Balm Review

While I love makeup, skin is the ultimate foundation for any look and I want to ensure that my skin always looks its best. With that in mind, I have been doing more and more research to create the perfect skincare routine for myself and my specific skincare needs (oily combination skin). While on this journey, I've recently learned about the process of double cleansing and why one should use cleansing balms, which apparently aren't just for makeup removal.

What is double cleansing? Double cleansing is a process that allows for the first cleanser, a cleansing balm or oil cleanser, to break down any makeup, SPF, or excess oils from the day. The second cleanser will address the needs and concerns of your skin type: hydration, exfoliation, etc.

While at Sephora I found the Farmacy Beauty makeup meltaway cleansing balm in the original Green Clean and the limited addition Very Cherry Clean, which is currently sold out. The cleansing balm features 3.4 oz of product, comes with a spatula and removes all my makeup and sunscreen in one wash.

I take one scoop with the spatula, apply dry and rinse off. It features a very gentle scent, fresh and clean for the Original and light and cherry sweet for the Very Cherry version. A little goes a long way and removes all of my makeup, including waterproof mascara. I have also seen an improvement in the texture of skin since using this product. I believe that double cleansing with this balm has made sure to remove all the excess oils that cause those bumps of texture on the skin. I will continue to purchase this cleansing balm, in both the Green Clean and the Very Cherry Clean when it is back in stock.

Do you double cleanse? Have you tried either one of these cleansing balms or do you prefer an oil cleanser?
